Frequently asked questions

What is KataGo?
KataGo is an open-source Go AI released after AlphaGo. On top of superhuman playing strength it also learned to predict the score, so it can tell you how many points ahead each side is. The opponent on this site is the Go AI KataGo.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free games and scoring are free and need no account. Saved records and post-game analysis are member features still in preparation.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Any modern browser works — phone, tablet or desktop — with the same board and the same opponent. On a phone the Baduk Han Su app for Android and iOS is handier: it is the same opponent at the same levels, with your settings kept on the device.
